Message	component and the tweeter is natively mounted to the speaker itself and fits perfect behind the factory grill. It can also be removed and mounted with their provided hardware should you choose to mount it externally. If I recall, they are 125w RMS speakers and as mentioned, you WILL need an amp. The biggest problem I've found in the convertible is the left side wind noise over powers the left speaker making the right side way too loud. I have my balance set LEFT +4 to compensate for this and now it's perfect. 1993 TT. R.I.P. 09.15.2010
